Promoting culture in all its diversity
Maroc Telecom fosters all forms of cultural and artistic expression, which enable communities to thrive and develop sustainably.
It supports music, cinema, theater, publishing, and other sectors. Every year, It actively supports more than ten major music and audiovisual festivals throughout the Kingdom, some of which having an international dimension.
Maroc Telecom acquired 38 artworks of leading Moroccan artists including paintings and sculpturesTo confirm its choice, Maroc Telecom received counseling from its public partner, the Ministry of Culture. Under this partnership, Maroc Telecom funded the recording of an anthology of popular Moroccan music in four volumes on CD-ROM.
Support to music festivals
Maroc Telecom participates to develop music by the support, since their inception, to the biggest festivals of the Kingdom, which reflect all the musical diversity: the Mawazine Festival, the Sacred Music Festival of Fez, the Amazigh Festivals of Fez, Casablanca and Rabat Festivals,regional festivals of popular and traditional arts such as the Ahidous Festival, the Hait Festival, the Rissani desert music Festival, The Rai Festival of Oujda and the Amazigh culture Festival.
Maroc Telecom's Jawla Festivals, and the musical caravan
Every summer, since 2002, Maroc Telecom organizes its Jawla festival with includes the Beach Festival and the musical caravan. It offers nearly 300 free concerts with a tour through the main cities of Morocco over the course of two months. Local, national and international artists perform in front of an audience that reaches, cumulatively, over three million spectators.
The musical caravan
Thanks to the musical caravan, the public has access, in a dozen cities across the country, to rich and diverse moroccan artistic contents. The musical caravan offers for two months :
- Concerts given by artists of great talent
- Important human, technical and logistical resources permitting extraordinary stagings and fascinating shows
- Participation of artists from various genres expressing themselves in a variety of musical styles : popular and urban music
- Scenes in the principal public places in the visited cities
Maroc Telecom confirms thereby its social role by its :
- Contribution to promote moroccan art and culture production
- moral and financial support to moroccan artists
- assistance to preserve culture and to popularize regional and popular songs and dances
- participation to identify and promote young people artistic talent.
Sponsor of cinema, theater
Maroc Telecom is a loyal supporter since its first edition, of the International Film Festival of Marrakech, and the Rabat Arthouse Film Festival. Since 2002, it helps the National Theatre Mohammed V in setting up its annual production, and contributes to the editing of books of Moroccan authors on audiovisual and sports.
The Maroc Telecom Museum
On September 24, 2001, Maroc Telecom opened the first museum of telecommunications in the Kingdom
It is housed since 2013 in a tailored space in the ground floor of the Maroc Telecom tower. It ideally hosts its guests in a large area that includes all its collections of objects related to telephony and telecommunications.
Its educational circuit that presents and explains the evolution of telecommunications from the late 19th century to the present day, namely in Morocco, guides the many visits, including students for school field trips.
The Telecommunications Museum is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) since 2002.
